Manhattan Beach Middle School currently offers two choir classes - Sand & Sea (6th grade) and Ocean Wave Chorale (7th and 8th grades). Students register for choir classes during the class selection process. Please contact the MBMS Choir Director, Kate Crellin, at kcrellin@mbusd.org, with any assessment, registration, or class placement questions.

Videos of the choirs can be found on the Mira Costa Choirs YouTube channel.

MBMS Performance Attire Includes:

Choir T-Shirt - A blue t-shirt with the MBMS logo. The Choir t-shirt is used for community events and informal performances.

Concert Attire - Students have three concert attire options to choose from: A blue velvet concert gown, a traditional tuxedo, and a button-down dress shirt option.

Measurements for concert attire will take place in the fall. Students will receive attire information in class.

The MBMS Choirs strive to increase their presence in the community. Currently the choirs participate in such well-known local traditions as the Hometown Fair, the Pumpkin Races, and more. If you are planning a local event and are interested in having the MBMS Choirs sing, please contact the Choir Director, Kate Crellin, at kcrellin@mbusd.org.

The MBMS Choirs begin every year with a day-long retreat to foster social connections, rehearse, and enjoy games and activities. Information about the retreat will be shared with students in class, and with parents via email.

While there is not a Booster organization at the middle school level, dedicated parent volunteers do assist the Choir Director as needed. If you are interested in volunteering, please email the Choir Director, Kate Crellin, at kcrellin@mbusd.org.

Info to come.

You can reach the parent volunteers at MBMSChoir@gmail.com.
